Main duties of the job
Open only to applicants from Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system, which is limited to Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Southern Health FT, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton FT, Solent NHS Trust, South Central Ambulance Service or Hampshire Hospitals FT.
Working within the perioperative care department you will be supporting the surgical pre-assessment and the perioperative medicine team by co-ordinating patients through their pre-operative journey in the lead up to surgery.
The department is busy and will see approx. 9000 patients a year.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Dealing with queries on the phone
- Processing referrals into the service

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Good standard of education with literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE pass level 4-9 or equivalent standard
- NVQ 2 diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience of working in a customer led environment
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages
- Evidence of computer literacy
Desirable criteria
- Courses/further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development
- Proficient in the use of hospital computerised patient systems
- Call handling experience
- Experience of working shifts
