Our Vision is to provide the best mental health, learning disability, autism, community, and physical health services for the populations we serve.

As an integrated Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) delivers a comprehensive range of services, including:

  • Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults, including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, and forensic services with low and medium secure care.
  • Specialist mental health inpatient care for individuals with learning disabilities, alongside specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
  • Extensive community physical health and well-being services for children and adults, covering prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term condition management.

The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,500 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites. The organisation offers opportunities for medics, mental health, general nurses, children’s nurses, allied health professionals, psychology, administration and clerical staff, apprentices and volunteers, as well as those specialising in learning disabilities and community physical health services.

We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated mental health nurse for our Specialist Perinatal Mother and Baby Unit. Ribblemere Mother and Baby Unit is an 8 bedded mother and baby unit, offering conjoint admission for mothers and their babies.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

Applicants should be passionate about delivering a high level of individualised inpatient care, have excellent leadership skills and a genuine interest in perinatal mental health. 

The successful candidates will receive appropriate specialist perinatal training.

Care is provided over a 24 hour period and all nursing team members work rotational shift patterns including days, nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse Qualification.(RNMH & RNLD) with on-going registration with the NMC.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development that supports clinical practice.

Knowledge

  • Can demonstrate an understanding and knowledge base of mental health conditions and their treatments.
  • Can demonstrate a working knowledge of physical health conditions and the complications that this can cause to patients experiencing mental ill health.

Experience

  • Post Graduate experience.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team structure.
  • Experience of assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing care needs.

Skills

  • Excellent communication, listening, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Developed clinical nursing skills with a clear ability to understand new concepts and ideas in clinical practice.
  • Can provide evidence of recent continued professional development within the scope of nursing.
