Are you looking to develop your Occupational Therapy Rehabilitation skills across specialist community rehabilitation settings? This exciting rotational post is based within the inner London boroughs of Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham. The role offers excellent opportunities to work within specialist multi-disciplinary teams delivering high quality evidence - based rehabilitation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our established band 6 rotation across the following specialist settings:  Community Neuro Rehabilitation, Children and young people, Learning Disabilities and Bedded rehabilitation.

You will have an opportunity to develop your Occupational Therapy practice and deliver evidence -based rehabilitation in a variety of settings including; client’s own homes, clinics, community facilities and an inpatient rehabilitation unit.

 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • To provide an Occupational Therapy service of the highest possible standard for clients referred to the service by:
  • Carrying out assessments to establish clients physical, cognitive, perceptual, psychological and social functioning and to determine their level of function and suitability for admission to programmes for rehabilitation.
  • Agreeing goal orientated programmes in conjunction with the client, his/her family and other professionals involved and planning and implementing appropriate intervention.
  • Demonstrating skills in the management of conflict with clients who are having difficulty understanding and accepting diagnoses and long term conditions
  • Regularly monitoring and reviewing client progress

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy
  • State Registration (HCPC)
  • Evidence of continual professional development

  • Post-qualification training relevant to clinical practice
  • Course in the prescription of wheelchairs and seating
  • Clinical Supervisors/Educators Course
  • Membership of professional body - RCOT.
  • Sensory integration certificate

Experience

Meini prawf hanfodol
  • Relevant experience post registration in a NHS setting.
  • Post qualifying experience in three of the following areas, orthopaedics, rehabilitation, neurology, older adults, Learning Disabilities and paediatrics
  • Experience in assessing and treating children or adults with physical conditions and complex multi pathologies.
  • Experience of current OT assessment and treatment techniques/models
  • Experience of home modifications including equipment provision, and environmental adaptations
  • Experience of providing physical rehabilitation to clients with cognitive deficits.
  • Experience of client-centred goal planning.

  • Experience of working in either community, school, inpatient or clinic setting.
  • Experience in supervising staff and / or students.
  • Experience of working in a team environment.
  • Experience of providing education and training to Carers and family members.
  • Experience working with Social Services
