Main duties of the job

The Tissue Viability team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, confident individual that has a focus on skin integrity and wound care to join our Tissue Viability team who deliver support for staff with the management of all wounds. 

You would be an innovative and inspirational nurse who has a passion for teaching, supporting and guiding staff, and providing high levels of care for patients. You will be working as part of the team with full support but developing skills to enable you to manage your own case load of patients’.

This is currently this is a Monday to Friday role, with some flexibility around hours. May be weekend working in the future

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Degree qualification, 120 credits at L6 or possess an equivalent knowledge to be assessed through evidence of relevant specialist training, experience or portfolio
  • Significant post registration experience / qualification / training, including experience and knowledge within relevant speciality
  • Completion of all Band 5 (preceptorship) competencies
  • Higher Education Institute approved course in supporting learners in practice or evidence assessed to be of equivalent experience, demonstrating support to a range of learners in practice. Provide evidence of both supporting a range of learners in practice and supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice
  • Extensive post registration experience within specialist area.
