Director of Adult Community Services

Salary: Senior Executive Level 5 - £97,642 - £120,821 (pay award pending)

Location: Trust Headquarters, Craigavon Area Hospital, Northern Ireland

Southern Health & Social Care Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional leader to join its Senior Leadership Team following recent restructuring and the imminent retirement of the existing postholder.

Reporting to the Director of Operations – Adult Community & Acute Services, this role is pivotal to shaping the future of adult health and social care services across the Trust.

The Director of Adult Community Services role is pivotal to delivering our ambitions for a “community first” approach — one that supports people to live and age well, independently and safely within their own communities, and which plays a critical role in relieving pressure across the acute system.

The successful candidate will demonstrate significant senior leadership experience, strong strategic and operational capability, and a proven ability to lead complex services at scale. They will be credible, values-driven leaders, committed to improving outcomes, safety, experience and flow across the adult system.

As part of the new senior leadership configuration, the Director of Adult Community Services will work closely with the Director of Medicine and Unscheduled Care and other colleagues to strengthen joint ownership of flow, demand management and outcomes across the whole adult system. This is a role for a leader who is comfortable with complexity, who values partnership, and who can balance compassionate leadership with the delivery of difficult and necessary change.

This appointment offers a rare opportunity to influence care delivery at scale and play a central role in the Trust’s transformation agenda.
