Senior Eating Disorder Practitioner

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Senior Practitioner to join the Connect: West Yorkshire Eating Disorder Service on a 1 year contract to cover maternity leave.  We are looking for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist to join our award winning team. 

The service delivers community treatment to Leeds and West Yorkshire residents with a diagnosed Eating Disorder. In addition, the service also provides care and support, and looks to improve patient’s quality of life, and manage physical risks associated with this client group to a small group of patients who are accessing Connect’s Enrichment and FREED pathways’. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work across these pathways therefore flexibility and adaptability are essential qualities that need to be demonstrated.

The community service is CCG commissioned, and treatment will be focused on recovery from the individuals Eating Disorder. 

The service have a number of pathways which are tailored to treat our patient group, therefore as a member of the team you will be involved with patients who have signed up to a pathway within Connect. You will be delivering specific treatment interventions on a 1.1 bases, plus co-facilitating group work to a defined group of patients.

It is desirable that the successful candidate has experience working with client group, either in an Inpatient or Outpatient/ Community setting, as well as being enthusiastic and motivated to working with individuals with different and often complex needs.

You will provide a high standard of care to an allocated group of West Yorkshire service users with a  diagnosis of eating disorders in the community, as part of a remote working and home intervention program. You will work as part of a developing multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality service to people with eating disorders and you will be responsible for own clinical caseload and assist the service in providing integrated and comprehensive treatment programmes. Working within a community setting you will assess, plan and manage the complex needs of individuals with eating disorders whilst also assessing for any psychiatric co-morbidity and other relevant needs with the support from the MDT. You will also participate in in the planning and delivery of a group therapy program which is in line with evidence based practice treatment outlined within NICE guidance.
