Facilities Manager 

Band 7 - £49,387 - £56,515 per annum pro rata

Responsible for the day to day operational management of a facilities management service for specific localities that are part of a large Mental Health and Community Services property portfolio across Essex, Bedfordshire and Luton.

 

Works with and supports the Head of Facilities Management to ensure a seamless facilities management service is maintained at all times. The post holder will have day to day operational management responsibility for ensuring that the Trusts facilities are maintained in a safe and comfortable condition for all patients, staff and visitors accessing Trust occupied premises, ensuring the services are delivered to meet statutory requirements, government targets and having a particular focus on making sure they are responsive to user needs.

Provide routine advice across all aspects of facilities as detailed in the management responsibilities section of this JD. Each Assistant Facilities Manager will have specialist knowledge of catering, cleaning and waste management.

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the effective monitoring of the facilities services including supporting the divisional audits, monitoring KPI’s, PLACE planning support and service user engagement in line with ISO9001 and the divisional strategy for continuous improvement. 

 

The post holder will assist the Head of Facilities Management to conceive and promote new initiatives for the effective management of services and be responsible for the delivery of the facilities services objectives, operational policies and procedures. This will require a positive approach through the attendance of service user meetings and regular contact with the relevant Heads of Service/Ward Managers, to ensure an efficient service is provided for their respective sites and buildings.

 

The post holder will be required to take a managing role for all facilities services functions for a selection of nominated sites within an area (either Essex or Bedfordshire and Luton) including general building condition , catering functions, cleaning services, grounds and gardens, portering, linen, waste management, transport and logistics, car parking, and facilities contracts management (where services are outsourced), statutory compliance, national priorities, and DH guidance for soft FM services.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be required to implement policies, new initiatives and manage operational change with an innovative approach consistent with the modernisation of the NHS and in-line with the direction provided by the Head of Service Performance.

The post holder will be required to provide cover for other Area Facilities Managers and deputise for the Head of Facilities Management as and when requested to do so.
