Are you highly organised, motivated and passtionate about making a real different to patient care? University Hospital Southampton is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Urology Administrative team as a Bladder Pathway Coordinator.

In this vital role, you will support the smooth and timely management of patients along the bladder cancer pathway, from initial referral through diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.  You will proactively coordinate and track patients to ensure key clinical milestones are achieved, acting as a central point of contact for patients, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams (MDT's).

By reducing delays and closely monitoring compliance with national cancer targets, including the 62-day pathway, you will plan crucial role in improving both patient experience and clinical outcomes.

You will act as centralised point of contact for patients. This role involves proactively reaching out to patients to provide the necessary assistance, offering proactive support and guidance throughout the early diagnostic and treatment pathway. 

You would be working closely with clinical teams to coordinate patient care, escalate concerns when appropriate, and ensure patients receive timely information and support. 

You will maintain accurate records and monitor patient pathways from referral through to discharge or onward referral, ensuring compliance with Cancer Outcomes & Services Dataset (COSD) requirements, national cancer targets, and patient-centred care standards.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

Meini prawf hanfodol
  • Training and experience in administrative roles to vocational level 3 or equivalent
  • Good knowledge across a range of administrative work procedures including non-routine elements to Diploma level 4 or equivalent
  • Good grounding in medical terminology
  • Relevant experience in an NHS setting with a wide breadth of speciality knowledge
  • Experience of working in a pathway coordination/navigation role or similar
  • Proficient in the use of all hospital computerised patient systems
  • Experience of working in a patient or customer facing role with ability to establish report
