Advanced Clinical Pharmacist

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our progressive, pharmacy team to cover an upcoming maternity leave.

·         To provide advanced clinical pharmacy and medicines related care to service users with mental illness, learning disabilities and substance misuse problems.

·         Your focus will be to lead on and provide complex medicines optimisation advice and  professional leadership to the inpatient services based at one or more LYPFT hospital sites.

·         You will work as an integral member of the Multidisciplinary Team(s) but also independently to proactively identify, respond to and develop patient centred  treatment recommendations for medicines queries, prescribe medicines if appropriately qualified and within scope, speak with service users/carers about medication to improve service users’ outcomes and experience of  their medication.

·         You will lead and provide professional guidance to a team of pharmacists and technicians based at the Becklin Centre to deliver an efficient pharmacy service alongside the Lead Technicians. This will include undertaking line management responsibility for Clinical Pharmacists, Band 6 / Specialist Clinical Pharmacists, Band 7 pharmacists and mentor other pharmacists in the Trust (including rotational trainees/undergraduates) as required.

·         As part of an excellent teaching organisation, you will have a responsibility to educate and develop the pharmacy and wider healthcare workforce.

·         Participate in the on-call and weekend rota working at one of our inpatient sites.

· You will have a 60:40 split of clinical to service development/management responsibilities

·         Provide clinical service to Red Kite View CAMHS unit

·         Participate in the medicines information rota.

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country.
