Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed
Job overview
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified, experienced, and self-motivated Network Architect to be based at either of the following BCUHB sites: Bangor/Abergele/Wrexham.
Working as a key member of the Voice and Data team within the ICT department, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and on-going operational management and support of the Health Board’s voice and data infrastructures which are primarily based upon modern Cisco technologies.
Main duties of the job
Ideally, the post holder should have a relevant degree, and /or CCIE qualifications, and extensive equivalent experience of one or more of the following:
- Data Networking Technologies (including LAN and WAN)
- Network Protocols (TCP/IP and Ethernet)
- Voice and Video Communication Technologies
- Network Security Technologies (including Next Gen Firewall, and Intrusion Prevention Systems)
- Wireless Networking Technologies
Additionally the post holder will have excellent organisational, documentation, analytical and interpersonal skills, and they will be required to provide specialist technical 3rd line support to departmental colleagues and 3rd party providers.
The post holder may be asked to work across all BCUHB sites and locations, therefore the ability to access transport (public and/or private) to travel off site is essential
This post is fixed term / secondment for 24 months due to the needs of the service.
