Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Care Directorate’s Administration Team at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, relatives and visitors to the Emergency Department and SDEC and must demonstrate a professional and sensitive manner and maintain confidentiality at all times.
You will possess a good standard of education, previous experience of working in an administrative / customer service setting and have excellent communication skills. You will need to be able to work as part of a team and be efficient and organised with your own workload.
You will join a friendly team who provides a variety of reception and administrative duties to assist the smooth running of the Emergency Department and SDEC.
The Emergency Department Reception provides 24/7 cover, 365 days per year, therefore the working hours will be flexible and will include early, late and night shifts.
The SDEC Receptionists work from 08.00 – 20.00 Monday to Friday and include early and late shifts.
Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient reception and administration service to the Emergency Care Directorate whilst working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that an effective service is provided and patient satisfaction is maximised. Also to promptly and efficiently exercise own judgement to resolve patient queries within own professional constraints.
By the nature of the duties, the post holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with staff, patients, carers and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.
