Exciting  Opportunity – Lead Radiographer for Scheduled Care

The role will involve - 

  • Working alongside Senior Radiographers to provide a high quality, patient-centred service.
  • The supervision and mentoring of staff and students, to ensure professional standards are adhered to.
  • Help improve the service through audits.
  • Undertake delegated management responsibilities, including appraisals, staff support, return-to-work discussions, and workflow coordination.

This role is perfect for a proactive, problem-solving Radiographer with excellent communication skills and a passion for continuous improvement. A solid understanding of IR(ME)R, IRR17, and iRefer Guidelines is essential.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Principal Operations Radiographers to deliver a high-quality, patient-focused service.
  • Set and uphold standards within your area, participate in audits, and identify areas for improvement in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Supervise, assess, and teach staff, students, and visitors, ensuring compliance with BCUHB policies, Radiology protocols, and professional standards.
  • Promote strong working relationships across departments, assisting in resolving local issues where appropriate.
  • Engage in delegated line management responsibilities such as conducting ‘Return to Work’ interviews and appraisals and assigning relevant staff to work areas.

This role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and a thorough understanding of IR(ME)R, IRR17 Regulations, and iRefer Guidelines. This is an ideal stepping stone for those considering senior roles in the future.
