The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2025/2026 and will be implemented in August 2025 with arrears backdated to 1st April 2025 where applicable. 

 

Job overview

Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Sterile Services Department by providing positive support to senior and junior colleagues and visitors to the SSD.

Contribute to the overall effectiveness of Sterile Services Department by providing the best possible efficient and safe service.

Main duties of the job

To ensure that each instrument set received into the department are processed by following the pre-set procedures relating to the SSD.

In the absence of the Sterile Services Manager and Sterile Services Supervisor take overall responsibility for the production in the department and ensure the continuity of service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent level of knowledge or qualifications or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • Desire to work towards recognised NVQ’s preferably acceptable to IDSc Standard
  • Users Course WHTM 01

Experience

  • Knowledgeable in sterile services processed and procedures
