The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.

 

Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our dedicated Theatre Team at Ysbyty Gwynedd, as a Band 3 Theatre Storekeeper/Omnicell Administrator.

Working within the limitations of the Omnicell system to provide effective control of goods received into the Department ensuring goods are ordered and distributed in a timely manner to the correct locations.  Ensure that stock is received in accordance with policy and is rotated to minimise wastage.  Adopt a flexible approach to any stores activity undertaken. 

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual, who will enjoy working in these demanding and rapidly changing environments, supporting all levels of nursing, medical and allied health staff.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and/or knowledge

Essential criteria
  • NVQ level 3 Business & Administration or equivalent experience
  • Good standard of education at GCSE level or equivalent
  • Willingness to undertake training and development as necessary
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Oracle ordering system, knowledge of an automated inventory and storage system.
  • Knowledge of Theatre stock
  • Ability to problem solve

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate experience in stock management. Experience of interrogating the reporting system and taking appropriate action.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Training of staff on automated storage system.
  • IT knowledge and daily use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Familiar with ordering and stock take procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of theatre procedures and policies and operational procedures of the department
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of the Omnicell system

  • Ability to demonstrate innovative techniques and willingness to consider new ways of working
  • Team work - the ability to deal with all level of staff members and outside agencies
  • Personal qualities including proactive approach and ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others

  • The ability to judge information, prioritising and responding appropriately
  • IT skills - microsoft outlook
  • Able to understand and maintain confidentiality
