Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a  Band 3 Housekeeper to work alongside our friendly and motivated team of nurses and health professionals on the acute gastroenterology ward. We require someone who is dynamic with excellent communication skills. 

The housekeeper role incorporates an array of non-clinical duties.  The main element of the role is ensuring the delivery of cleaning, being responsible for the, co-ordination and delivery of catering, organising minor maintenance, ordering and organisation of stores, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patient’s needs, as determined by the Unit Sister ensuring the ward is a welcoming environment to patients, visitors and staff .

The post holder will be required to work closely with contractors and support services departments. He/she will monitor quality standards and rectify deficiencies in liaison with the Unit Manager/Clinical Lead Nurse

The successful applicant must a have a willingness to learn new skills and undertake further training if required.  The post holder would ideally have some Oracle and Stores experience although full training will be given.

The position involves maintaining the high standards the role demands. The successful candidate will possess:

  • Ability to communicate on all levels and work as a team
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent organisation and coordinating skills
  • Be able to work independently and prioritise work
  • Adhere to trust values and belie
