The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2025/2026 and will be implemented in August 2025 with arrears backdated to 1st April 2025 where applicable. 

 

Job overview

As an occupational therapy assistant practitioner within the orthopaedic occupational therapy team, you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to the team of occupational therapists.

You will be involved in delivering treatment programmes under the supervision of the Occupational therapist which will include increasing independence in functional activities of daily living.

This is a permanent post working 30 hours per week.

The post holder will be expected to work on the acute ward in Glan Clwyd Hospital as well as the elective wards currently in Abergele hospital and soon to be the new orthopaedic ward in Llandudno Hospital.

Main duties of the job

You will play a key role in assisting patients to meet their goals and promoting their independence. Interventions may be delivered 1:1 or as part of a group; in hospitals or in peoples own homes.

You will have a strong commitment to working with people in a caring and rehabilitative way excellent organizational and time management skills and be competent using IT. You will work well within a team and also be confident and competent to work autonomously.

The team has a strong commitment to CPD and service development and you will be well supported as the role develops.

 The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
