Job overview
- Perform basic lung function procedures in a variety of clinical settings
- Assist with more specialised lung function procedures
- Maintain, calibrate and quality control equipment required to perform basic lung function procedures to ensure accuracy
- Maintain accurate patient information systems
- Undertake administration duties e.g. posting results, answering telephone queries and other general reception duties
- Assist with training of less experienced staff
Main duties of the job
Perform lung function tests accurately in accordance with SOP’s, on patients of all ages in a variety of locations including:
- Spirometry
- Response to inhaled bronchodilators
- Basic respiratory muscle weakness testing
- Pulse oximetry at rest
- Overnight pulse oximetry (this includes setting up equipment, downloading results and preparing reports for review by qualified respiratory physiologists)
- Nitric oxide testing
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
