Fern Lodge is a small care home providing living accommodation for up to 8 adults with learning disabilities, we are set in extensive grounds and gardens, and everyone has their own large room with bedroom, living area and ensuite bathroom.  There are currently seven people living at Fern Lodge and with a variety of needs.  Your working day will be varied, interesting and rewarding, with opportunity to participate in a variety of training opportunities and develop yourself. 

Within the same grounds is Cypress Gardens, incorporating 12 individual supported living flats where you will enable individuals to develop their ability to maintain independence and grow in confidence through support and encouragement.  There are a variety of shifts and hours available including weekdays, weekends and waking night so we can flexibly meet the needs of the people who live here.

As a Support Worker, your role is pivotal in providing compassionate support that enables residents to engage in activities they cherish. This includes spending time with family and friends, pursuing leisure activities, shopping, and attending work or college. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY:
This role is to enhance the quality of life of residents within the Supported Living
Scheme by providing individualised care and support, maximising health, wellbeing
and independence.

Support workers undertake a variety of care and support tasks defined by the
resident including personal care, maintaining and developing relationships with
families and friends, pursuing opportunities for work and education, also ensuring
that the service user can access their chosen activities and pursue their own
interests, whilst being supported by a person of their choosing.


Support Workers also provide full pro-active and active support to individuals during
difficult situations of challenging behaviour in line with their support plans and risk
assessments. As part of a team support workers work closely together to develop and deliver high quality cares standards in line with the residents desired outcomes ensuring
consistent approaches and support at all times. Support workers will have a positive, empathetic and enabling outlook in delivering individualised support and care for all residents.


Support workers represent the organisation in a variety of multi-disciplinary settings
and therefore must present themselves professionally at all times, you may also be
expected to work across all services as part of your role to meet the needs of the
individuals requiring our care and support.
