We cover Bristol, North Somerset and South Glos. and services are offered in various parts of these localities to facilitate easy access for families.

We are looking for two full-time band 5 physiotherapists, who are enthusiastic and motivated  to work within the Children’s Community Physiotherapy Team in BNSSG -initially based in South Glos. and East &  Central Bristol. You would have the opportunity to work within our Early Years service, mainstream schools and our Special schools, depending on your skill set or the area of work you would like to develop.

We work as an integrated service  with our Occupational Therapy colleagues and Speech and Language Therapists within Early Years, also working  closely with the Paediatricians, Bristol Children’s Hospital and running joint clinics with our Orthopaedic surgeons within the community

We are committed to regular training and development and we have a well-established Integrated In-Service Training Program, as well a broad range of internal management and development courses. External training courses are also funded when appropriate.

Main duties of the job

To manage a specialist case load independently and carry out a range of varied therapeutic activities, with regular support and supervision. To use your knowledge and experience to provide professional care, treatment, advice, guidance and support to referred children and young people with Complex Needs.

To work as an autonomous practitioner, to provide high quality, evidenced- based assessments relevant to children’s’ therapy and practice, to children and young people, often with Complex Needs

To use clinical reasoning skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate child-centred intervention, using an evidence-based practice approach.

To provide an in depth analysis of the assessment and facts in order to compare a range of options for appropriate specialist intervention and programmes and to contribute to a differential diagnosis when necessary

To contribute to specific team activities in order to promote service development; this could include teaching to external agencies

To contribute to the needs assessment of children as part of the SEND process in line with the local guidelines and the Code of Practice
