An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Podiatry Diabetes and Vascular Pathway Lead to join our community-based team. At Sirona care & health, we’re proud to be the sole NHS provider of podiatry services across the region — and we’re looking for someone who shares our passion for delivering exceptional, person‑centred care.

In this role, you will shape and influence our diabetes and vascular podiatry pathways, driving service development and improving the quality of care for our patients. You will also have opportunities to work across multiple sites in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, collaborating closely with colleagues in secondary care, primary care and social care.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

In this Diabetes and Vascular lead role, you will:

  • Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for individuals with complex podiatric needs
  • Work autonomously and as part of a wider MDT across a range of community settings
  • Support the continuous improvement of clinical pathways within:
    • High-risk foot care (diabetes and vascular)
    • Complex Wound Care
  • Act as a source of expert advice and clinical leadership across the podiatry team
  • Supervise and mentor podiatry staff, apprentices, students, and other AHP and Nursing colleagues
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement, audit, and evidence-based practice
  • Collaborate with system partners to ensure equitable, effective care across BNSSG

  • Degree in Podiatric Medicine
  • Certificate in Local Anaesthesia
  • Post graduate training at Masters level or equivalent in diabetes/vascular or wound care
  • Can demonstrate working towards Master/Level 7
  • Evidence of working as a clinical supervisor

  • Non-medical prescriber or willingness to undertake qualification
  • Completion of relevant leadership and/or management training course

Skills and knowledge

  • Highly specialised clinical reasoning skills
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge and experience in diabetes foot care and vascular foot care
  • Evidence of decision making regarding complex patient pathways
  • Highly developed skills in communication
  • Evidence of teaching, supervising and mentoring a broad range of clinicians
  • Critical understanding of personal scope of practice
  • Experience of dealing with complaints, clinical incidents and risk assessments.
  • clinically competent to assess and manage foot conditions involving highly complex patients including diabetes and vascular
