Job overview
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated person who will provide medical records support for the Central Mental Health Service
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, excellent communication skills, be able to work on their own initiative and be efficient and organised with their own workload. The candidate should also have excellent keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Office Package. The post holder will be expected to undertake a variety of duties within the role.
Main duties of the job
The Medical Records Clerk will be responsible for providing an essential support service in the continuing care of patients, ensuring that the case notes are at the right place at the right time.
To actively promote the vision for the Health Records service working towards a Digital Records future and support the delivery of modernisation plans for Health Records. This will require the post holder to support with the delivery of the BCU Health Records Operational Plan by supporting the Medical Records Supervisor.
The post holder will cross cover in all aspects of the role including, the pulling, filing, pruning, destruction, preparation, amalgamation and secure transportation / delivery of the case notes. Providing a professional and efficient reception service as required, ensuring that all patients and visitors are welcomed in an appropriate manner.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply

Qualifications and / or Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Good standard of education, GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications
- Basic knowledge of principles of confidentiality
- NVQ Level 2 Customer Services, or equivalent knowledge & experience, or willing to work towards
Desirable criteria
- NVQ or equivalent qualification / experience
- Knowledge of NHS Records Management legislation
Experience
