Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Mental Health – Acute Liaison service for Clinical Team Secretary/Administrator
There is an expectation for weekend cover. Mental Health – Acute Liaison supports multiagency and multidisciplinary services providing care for patients who have been assessed within our acute and community hospitals. In order to support the team our administrating clerical team are front of house and receive referrals, therefore information is gathered and documented on our computer system. The admin team also support with our daily huddles capturing information, documenting in a timely, concise and clear way. You may also need to accommodate urgent requests from senior staff to meet service demand.
You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be working with the Mental Health Teams within services across County Durham. We are looking to employ a hardworking, conscientious individual who is able to present themselves in a professional manner. The successful candidate would be required to perform administrative duties, have an understanding of Information systems and be able to contribute to ongoing service development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful applicant will ideally have an awareness of mental health issues and will be able to demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work. They will have an eye for detail and a high degree of accuracy. They will be able to effectively and clearly communicate with colleagues, service users and their families, along with external agencies in order to support liaison services.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent (or willingness to achieve in timescale)
- Key skills/functional skills in literacy and numeracy Level 2 OR O Level (Grade C and above/New GCSE in Maths and English (Grade 4 to 9) are an essential requirement to be fully competent in the role
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in an administrative environment (diary management, filing systems, meeting coordination, minute talking, data input, collating and presenting information).
- Customer Service experience (face to face, answering calls, correspondence)
- Experience of organising completing demands and workloads
- Experience of setting up and maintenance of administrative systems and processes
- Experience of working autonomously and proactively
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Understanding of data protection and the need for confidentiality and how to maintain this
- Knowledge of office systems and processes
