Job overview
Are you an enthusiastic Physiotherapist looking to develop your clinical expertise across inpatient and outpatient settings? We are seeking a committed Band 6 Physiotherapist (0.6 WTE) to join the Physiotherapy team at Deeside Community Hospital.
This varied role offers experience in inpatient ward‑based rehabilitation and our neuro outpatient service. You will work closely with the Community Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and the Neuro Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist, benefiting from their advanced expertise to support your development, enhance your clinical reasoning, and strengthen the quality of rehabilitation across the service.
As part of a supportive multi‑disciplinary team, you will contribute to high‑quality, person‑centred rehabilitation that promotes independence, functional improvement, and meaningful recovery. This role provides an excellent opportunity to consolidate Band 6 competencies while developing specialist skills in neuro rehabilitation and complex inpatient care.
We are looking for someone who:
• Demonstrates strong clinical reasoning and a commitment to evidence‑based practice.
• Has experience or a strong interest in neuro rehabilitation and inpatient care.
• Enjoys delivering holistic, patient‑centred care within a collaborative MDT.
• Is organised, proactive, and confident managing a mixed caseload.
• Is enthusiastic about continuous professional development and service improvement.
Main duties of the job
To carry out Physiotherapy assessments and devise individualised therapeutic treatments plans. Work closely with the MDT to support complex discharge plans out of hospital.
Within this position there is a good support, both clinically and managerially from a Team leader, Clinical Specialist and Advanced Practitioner.
To ensure a high standard of care for Patients, linking in closely with families or carers, multi-agency teams and other disciplines involved.
To communicate with patients, carers, agencies and other disciplines in an appropriate manner, often with sensitive information, diagnoses or outcomes.
To supervise, teach and appraise peers, physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, technical instructors, students and other members of the multidisciplinary or multiagency teams.
To train and supervise service users, families or carers and staff from other disciplines or agencies to carry out programmes of care devised by the therapist.
To deputise and support the Clinical Team Leader as required in the daily management of the designated team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
