Main duties of the job
We are seeking an experienced clinician to work within Bedfordshire Community Health Services (ELFT) Rapid Response Team as a service manager to join the senior management team and existing service manager. The post holders will work closely with their aligned Deputy Lead Nurse and service to improve, innovate and undertake operational day to day line management of this team.
You will be a strong leader, focused on achieving real improvements in outcomes for patients and will be confident in your ability to support, coach and develop individuals and teams to deliver consistently high quality services. You will be innovative, forward thinking, self-driven with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for specialist nursing.
You will take pride in your work and be highly motivated and dynamic, have a flexible approach and be able to embrace change. Being a collaborative worker and the ability to network and build relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders is essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Due to the nature of the post the applicant must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post and the post holder will be expected to support the on call manager roster.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered General Nurse
- Educated to Masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or relevant experience of working at a senior level
- Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience in operational health service management, managing a range of nursing services
- Experience of planning and delivering programmes, audits and services on time
- Experience of managing a range of contracts across acute and community services
Desirable criteria
- Experience of identifying need, setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures to support efficient service delivery and ability to communicate this at range of levels from across the organisation
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Clear understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciates the implications of this on engagement and service delivery
- Clear understanding of the relationship between the Department of Health, NHS England, the Clinical Commissioning Groups, Local Authorities, and Healthcare Providers
- Proven written and oral communication skills and the ability to articulate information and influence others
- Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to think laterally
- The ability to embrace change, viewing it as an opportunity to learn and develop
Desirable criteria
- Highly competent in the use of IT systems including SystmOne and Adastra to ensure support of clinical teams with the correct use of these systems in relation to patient care, training staff in their use if required to enhance clinical practice and delivery of patient care

- Exhibit high levels of honesty and integrity and promote organisational values
- Car driver and access to a car for work purposes
