Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as an Area Administrator/Secretary.  Applications are invited for a suitably qualified/experienced Administrator to work acting as Secretary to the Community Nursing Matron and to undertake the Line Management of the administration teams within the District Nursing teams across Flintshire.  The role also includes, assisting in overseeing the coordination of services, endeavouring to maintain a sufficient amount of resources to enable an efficient service for patients / service users.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high degree of interpersonal, team working and supervisory skills, preferably having had experience in working in an Admin/Secretarial and Community Nursing / Hospital environment previously.

It is essential that the successful applicant possesses good organisational skills, is able to work on his /her own initiative, as part of a team and is able to demonstrate the ability to work within time constraints and deadlines.

A flexible approach to this post is essential, as well as superb communications and ample computer skills.  The post holder may at times be required to work within different departments/sites to meet the demands of the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide high level administrative and secretarial services to the site matron, day to day management of staff processes. Communicating with organisations and individuals from both inside and outside the Health Board.

Essential criteria
  • RSA III / NVQ 3 Qualifications or Equivilant
  • GCSE English and Maths (Pass) or Equivalent Qualification or Administrative Experience
  • Diploma in Office administration or experience to diploma level
Desirable criteria
  • Typewriting/word processing qualification
  • NVQ or equivalent in administration
  • Advanced ECDL certificate
  • Audio typing
  • Certificate in supervision or management

Expeience

Essential criteria
  • Sufficient experience at a high level of providing comprehensive administrative/PA service
  • Experience of setting up and using filing/IT systems
  • Familiar with office procedures & deadlines

  • Previous experience of working as administrator / PA to an executive director or equivalent
