Job overview

Sirona delivers Children’s Services within Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.  The strength of our partnership is that together we have huge experience of providing large scale children’s services; working with families and communities to ensure a joined up approach, and working locally with strong connections and relationships with a wide range of commissioners and other provider organisations, which gives us a strong foundation on which to build further.  We are proud of our achievements to provide seamless services to the people that we serve and are looking for someone to help us to build on this strength.

We are looking for an individual who will ensure our services are safe, effective and caring, who will bring leadership and a passion for excellence and who will respond to the needs of our service users, families and our local communities.  You will be joining an energetic, ambitious organisation that is one of the first to achieve the Staff Wellbeing Charter; you can expect to be challenged and supported, and you will enjoy the benefits of attractive salary, terms of service, and NHS Pension

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a senior, experienced clinician who can work autonomously providing medical care for children with neurodevelopmental conditions and neuro-disability within the Community Paediatrics department in Sirona.

Clinical duties - As a specialist they will serve as ‘expert decision-makers’ responsible for the full range of patient care within community paediatrics, with the potential to work independently.  They will be expected to manage a community paediatric caseload including responding to requests for education health and care plans.

The role will primarily focus on providing direct clinical care in out-patient clinics, meeting service delivery requirements.

Leadership and teaching - The role will be supported by suitable development opportunities including management roles and leadership responsibilities in teaching and service development.

Study & Research - Sirona is committed to ensuring that support is given for Continuing Professional Development.  The postholder will be required to fulfil the requirements laid down by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, and to fulfil the requirements for revalidation laid down by the General Medical Council.

Clinical Governance - The postholder will be required to take part in a Clinical Governance programme, to include audit and quality improvement, in line with revalidation requirements to provide evidence of service development.
