Job overview
We are seeking an experienced Digital Commercial Manager to lead and oversee the Trust's Digital and Data Contracts and software licence agreement function, ensuring; the best fit with Trust requirements, value for money and a high quality of service provision.
The postholder will act as the lead expert for the Trust on Digital and Data contracts management, procurement process and routes to market and software licence agreements.

Main duties of the job
To ensure that there are robust contractual agreements and performance standards are in place with all third-party suppliers and that these are monitored on a regular basis, ensuring that the best value and service is achieved from the contracts.
To monitor the performance of the Digital and Data contracts management team, ensuring that there is best use of its resources to provide the most efficient service to the Trust. This will involve working closely with product experts within the Digital and Data department and customers to determine trends in performance and areas for service improvement.
To build positive working relationships between the Trust and its external service suppliers.
To procure and actively manage contracts proactively and highlight anticipated future changes.

The Digital and Data services department enjoys hybrid working - the successful postholder will be required to spend at least 40% of their working time office based.

Essential criteria
- Educated to Masters Level or equivalent in a IT, Business or Finance related field
- Contract Management qualification or with equivalent experiential learning and willingness to work towards in agreed timescale
Desirable criteria
- Qualification with the International Association for Contract Management (IACCM)
- Government Commercial College Contract Management accreditation
- CIPS Qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of procurement and the various routes to market, has worked on/led a range of procurements
- Significant Experience working with Contract IT management systems
- Experience in Software licensing models and agreements.
- Strong experience in relationship and supplier management
Desirable criteria
- Experience of staff management
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Extensive knowledge of Contract management processes and techniques
- Good understanding of NHS procurement, NHS Procurement framework and strategy
- Good knowledge of contract lifecycle, including award, variations and termination

- Knowledge of public sector procurement frameworks
