Job overview

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic IT professional to join our End User Computing Team.  We are increasing our support staff to support our business need.

The role will provide proactive management of all aspects the end user computing, including PC's, Laptops, Tablets, Mobile phones, MDM , Software management and patching.  Development of SCCM packages, patch management, creation of computer images etc.

Excellent communication skills and a customer focus are also key attributes that the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Main duties of the job

The Trust is predominantly Microsoft based, so the successful candidate will need to have experience of operating and managing Microsoft based software. The successful candidate needs to have good demonstrable and technical skills including but not exclusive to one or more of the following Application management skills:

  • End user computing devices management
  • End user computing peripherals management
  • Mobile Device Management and smart phone management
  • Multifunctional Devices and software management
  • SCCM Software Packages
  • Desktop and Application Patching
  • Asset management
  • License management
  • Patch Management
  • Creating and Managing Computer Images
  • Knowledge and understanding of software licensing
  • Microsoft Operating Systems, minimum of Windows 10
  • Active Directory
  • Anti-virus software configuration and support
  • Good, practical understanding of technical change control processes, upgrade
  • VDI Desktop patching and upgrading

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As one of the EUC officers for the Trust, you are face to face with our colleagues from all aspects of the Trust. The EUC officers work with different teams and the ability to work well with others is key to our role. We have to be polite and professional at all times when working onsite.

The candidate would need to be able to travel from one site to another where needed to resolve issues as they arise.

Experience working with third parties is important as we have different parties providing different services.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Degree standard or equivalent in a relevant subject or with equivalent experiential learning in the field of ICT Technical Design and Support
  • Achieve End User Computing related certification within an agreed time
Desirable criteria
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 4 Foundation
  • Post graduate qualification in a relevant subject
  • Microsoft qualifications such as MD-102 or MS900

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Recent hands on, IT technical experience of industry standard technologies and working with enterprise size technology solutions
  • Experience of working in a customer led service
  • Experience of working with third party suppliers
  • Experience in producing a range of documentation and reports i.e. Technical Documents, Standard Operating Procedures and Key Decision Documents.
  • Recent experience of working to structured change control processes – from raising to implementing.
Desirable criteria
  • Lean management methodologies
  • Work experience in an NHS environment

Skills

Essential criteria
  • SCCM/MECM Application package creation and deployment in enterprise setting
  • Experience of device patching in an enterprise environment
  • A detailed understanding of security around end user devices
  • Experience of managing MDM solution in and enterprise environment
  • Experience of creating and managing images in and enterprise environment
Desirable criteria
  • Technical skills in Intune
