Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a band 4 Generic Therapy Technical Instructor to work within the East IHC Flintshire Community Resource Team (CRT)

As a therapy assistant, the post holder will be responsible for providing clinical support to the qualified therapists within the Community Resource Team.

Working under the supervision of the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff, the post holder will undertake assessment and intervention with patients, within a protocol. Prescribe and issue assistive equipment and minor adaptations as appropriate.

We are looking for a motivated, hard-working, proactive individual who will be able to work alongside Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, other TIs and Support Workers. 

We value the importance of continuing professional development and Peer support. The successful candidate will be supported with supervision, appraisals and identifying learning opportunities and training. 

Main duties of the job

Carry out skilled screening assessments using departmental protocols, recognising when issues fall outside competency.

Manage an autonomous caseload delegated by qualified therapists.

Participate in triage and prioritisation of referrals.

Assess, provide and review equipment to support safe daily living.

Work collaboratively within a multi-professional CRT to prevent hospital admissions/ to facilitate early safe discharge from hospital.

Develop collaborative goals and care plans.

Communicate sensitively with patients, families and carers.

Build therapeutic relationships using motivational skills.

As a Band 4 TI you will also work independently to promote wellbeing, safety and independence within essential activities of daily living, by providing instruction, advice and treatment to the service-user and/or their carers. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and /or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
