Job overview
Although this position is a 12 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 12 months.
It is a very exciting time for our Maternity Services at Newham University Hospital Barts Health NHS Trust providing maternity care to women/birthing people and families from the local population and surrounding areas. Come and join our Maternity Immunisation team as we rise to meet the challenges of today’s changing maternity climate.
We are looking for an enthusiastic registered Adult Nurse / Midwife to be a member of the Maternity Immunisation Team.
· You will work with the team to provide a high standard of care and health promotion.
· You will have excellent communisation skills to provide a welcoming, friendly and supportive service to the women, and to form good professional relationships within the team.
Key responsibilities
· You will be working alongside another Band 5 Nurse to deliver a friendly, safe and effective vaccination service for pregnant women.
· You will administer Pertussis, Seasonal Flu Vaccinations, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccination programme, Covid.
Main duties of the job

- Registered Midwife/ Adult Nurse with current NMC Registration
- Knowledge of public health agenda in maternity/ neonatal Knowledge of child protection. Knowledge/understanding of confidentiality.

- Immunisation training/ experience
- Anaphylaxis training

Essential criteria
- The post holder requires highly developed physical skills where there is a high degree of precision, eye and sensory co- ordination
