Job overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated person who will provide relief clerical administrative support in Community Paediatrics. The post will be based at various Denbighshire sites.

The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, good communication skills, be able to work on their own initiative and be efficient and organised with their own workload. The candidate should also have keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Office Package.

A good telephone manner and communication skills are essential. The ability to speak Welsh would be beneficial but is not essential. The post holder will be required to demonstrate a professional and sensitive manner and maintain confidentiality at all times.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Provide administrative cover for a variety of clerical roles as directed by the Administrative Team Leader.  These roles include reception, appointments clerk and the safeguarding administrator and support medical secretaries.

  • GSCE English and Maths Grade C or above, or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ2 Admin / Customer Care

Experience

  • Previous clerical/computer experience

  • Experience in all office procedures within an NHS environment

Aptitude and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to use Word and Email
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Able to communicate effectively with all staff groups, clients and their families
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the meaning of Confidentiality
