Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join the Medical Equipment Library in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.  This is an important role meeting the needs of patients across the hospital by providing medical equipment which is working well, and ready to use.  IV pumps are a good example - used to give medicines and fluids into patients’ veins. You will also help staff with queries, and signpost information and training for them when required. The Medical Equipment Library is the best of its kind in North Wales, and you will be part of a valuable service to patients.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The role is physically active and varied, delivering and collecting equipment for wards across the hospital, and making it ready to be used again. This involves checking that devices are working correctly, putting battery equipment on charge, and cleaning devices in line with Health Board policies. Some basic safety testing of returned equipment is also involved, including trouble shooting basic equipment problems and reporting faulty medical devices.

The Equipment Library offers a full service during office hours Monday to Friday. We are looking for someone to work full time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday. You need to be able to work well on your own with remote support from the Medical Devices Team.

You will be joining a positive and supportive team, who are committed to providing a good service.
