Job overview
This post is Fixed term/Secondment for 12 months as maternity leave cover.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary early supported discharge stroke team. The team is based in the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Rhyl and covers Conwy and Denbighshire. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join the team with a clear passion for stroke rehabilitation. This is a part time post working 24.75 hours providing maternity leave cover for up to 12 months.
Main duties of the job
This post offers an opportunity to develop both clinical and managerial skills. Significant up to date experience of working within stroke is essential. This post will support the existing staff in continuing to provide Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention in patients own homes to support rehabilitation and timely discharges from the ward and to meet national stroke targets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for some of the day to day management and informal supervision of junior staff within the department. In addition, the post holder may contribute to the wider Occupational Therapy service i.e. audits, service developments, attending meetings.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
