Experienced Social Worker (Adult Care Mental Health Team)
Several opportunities exist to join Rochdale Borough Council as an experienced full time Social Worker based within the community mental health teams (CMHT) covering Rochdale. Applications are welcome from Social Workers with at least two years post-qualifying experience.
The Job:
This role is focused on Adult Social Care priorities and functions such as: care act assessments, commissioning services, completing mental capacity assessments and undertaking safeguarding enquiries as required, whilst based and working in conjunction with, CMHT clinical staff as part of partnership arrangements with Pennine Care NHS Trust.
Essential Professional requirements:
Qualified social worker
Registered with Social Work England
Knowledge and Skills required:
At least two years post-qualifying experience and knowledge of: working in Adult Social Care; of direct work with individuals; undertaking care act assessments; commissioning complex packages of support; completing mental capacity assessments; undertaking safeguarding enquiries and also carer assessments.
Knowledge of secondary mental health care pathways, and experience of risk management.
Experience of completing social circumstance reports and/or facilities reports for mental health tribunals and Manager’s hearings.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant Social Care, mental health and associated legislation and how to apply this in practice.

Training and career development opportunities may for example include: social work career progression, AMHP training, BIA training, Practice Educator training and opportunities to support student placements.
Applicants, who are qualified practising AMHPs, will have the opportunity to practice as part of a rota that supports those AMHPs who are based within the dedicated AMHP Hub. There is regular professional supervision available to all AMHPs, AMHP refresher training, and robust management support.
For Social Workers who are qualified/practising AMHPs an allowance paid (£2025 p.a.), subject to certain practice requirements being met.
Applicants who are already a qualified Best Interest Assessor, will have the opportunity to take part on the BIA rota.
