The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.
Job overview
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated person who will provide support to the Denbighshire Community Adult Learning Disabilities service, based in County Hall, Ruthin.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, excellent communication skills, be able to work on their own initiative and be efficient and organised with their own workloads.
The candidate should also have excellent keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Office Package.
A good telephone manner is essential. The ability to speak Welsh would be beneficial but is not essential. The post holder will be required to demonstrate a professional and sensitive manner and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited for a Support Medical Secretary, 16 hours. You will need to be highly motivated, flexible in approach and use your initiative to provide an excellent administration support to the department. You will be expected to contribute to the delivery of an effective and efficient service in a professional, sensitive and helpful manner. You will work as part of a team and will need to work closely with a range of staff.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
- G.C.S.E Maths and English C and above or equivalent
- NVQ Business Administration L3 or equivalent experience
- RSA /OCR level 2 or equivalent experience (must be a proficient user of Microsoft word
Desirable criteria
- IT related qualification( CLAIT plus or ECDL).
- NVQ Customer Service L2.
- L2 Medical terminology
