Fixed Term - 12 months contract to cover maternity leave

We are looking to recruit a qualified practitioner in to the Stockton CAMHs Getting More Help Team.  The successful candidate will  be well-motivated and forward-thinking and become a valued member of our extensive and experienced team - working with young people and their families with mental health challenges. 

We are committed to delivering high quality patient centred care and pride ourselves on good team working skills.  It is therefore important that the successful candidate is a flexible team player and holds excellent interpersonal and communication skills to meet the needs of the patients, carers, families and the partners with whom we work.

You will work closely with other members of the MDT and provide supervision and support to colleagues.

Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.

Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis. In the event that permanent funding is secured for this post the successful applicant will be confirmed in post on a permanent basis.

The team is multi-disciplinary and provides specialist assessments, treatment and interventions for young people suffering from moderate to severe complex emotional, behavioural and psychological issues resulting in mental health problems. 

Ideally the candidates will  already be trained in a governed evidence based therapy such as CBT, DBT, or SFP, or be trained as a Non Medical Prescriber (NMP).  Experience of working clinically with children and young people with Mental Health and Neurodevelopmental needs is essential.

However the team is currently in a position to be able to help staff develop the knowledge and experience within CAMHS and offer additional training as appropriate to role.

You will work as part of a growing team and will need to be confident in your own clinical decision making skills. You will work with a range of professionals from a variety of different agencies including social care, acute care and a range of community and voluntary sector partners.

Qualifications

  • Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (within agreed timescale)
  • 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
  • Depending on work area, recognised sign-off mentor (or equivalent) or must be achieved within agreed timescale.
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

  • CAMHS Degree
  • Certificate in teaching & assessing in clinical practice as appropriate to own profession.
  • Recognised qualification in a specific model of therapy e.g. family therapy, CBT etc.
  • Recognised training in Facilitation of Parenting Groups

  • Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers/families and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide effective clinical supervision, teaching, training and assessing in clinical practice

Experience
