Job overview

Are you looking for your first qualified role as a physiotherapist and ready to begin your career with us?

Bedford Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and dynamic Physiotherapist to join our Trust.

As part of this role, you will work within the Band 5 rotational programme at Bedford Hospital. You will not only provide high‑quality care to patients with a wide range of conditions, but also contribute to the ongoing development of the service and support the growth of the wider therapy team. Our eight rotations offer a minimum of three years’ exposure to a broad variety of clinical presentations and diagnoses, giving you a strong foundation for your professional development.

The eight rotations include:

  • Acute Frailty

  • Respiratory Inpatients

  • Orthopaedics and Surgery

  • Neurology Inpatients and Stroke

  • Urgent and Emergency Medicine

  • Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

  • Paediatrics

  • MSK Outpatients

Main duties of the job

The rotations are delivered on a four‑month cycle and are led and supported by experienced senior staff. Each rotation offers the opportunity to develop and enhance your clinical skills while working closely with members of the multidisciplinary team. You will gain valuable experience and the essential tools needed to progress confidently into more senior roles.

To succeed in this position, you will need to demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and skills gained through your placements, along with a proactive, problem‑solving approach to patient management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential.

We have a strong commitment to learning and development, and we recognise that every physiotherapist brings a unique blend of skills and experience. For this reason, we tailor your training and support to your individual needs, ensuring your time with us is both rewarding and successful.

The Trust continues to be committed to delivering the best patient care using the best clinical knowledge and technology available.
