Job overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Phlebotomists (Band 2) to join our dynamic and fast-paced Phlebotomy, Anticoagulant, Inpatient, and Outpatient services.

As a vital part of our growing team, you’ll contribute to essential patient care across multiple locations:

Service Locations:

  • Luton and Dunstable Hospital – Inpatient wards, Adult and Paediatric Outpatient Departments

  • Arndale House, Luton Shopping Mall

  • Travelodge, Dunstable Road, Luton

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting blood samples from both inpatients and outpatients

  • Supporting general departmental operations

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM

  • Thursday & Friday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

  • Weekends & Bank Holidays: 5-hour shifts on a rota basis

This is a 28.5-hour per week pro rata position, ideal for individuals passionate about patient care and eager to thrive in a busy clinical environment.

 

 

 

Main duties of the job

Duties will include:

  • To undertake collection of blood samples from In Patients,  Outpatients and GP requests  after suitable training and assessment of competency.
  • Carrying out general departmental duties.
  • To work on a rota system at weekends and Bank Holidays.
  • To carry out routine stock taking and monitor stock levels.
  • To assist in anticoagulant clinics as required.
