Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse (ADSU)
**This is a secondment opportunity for 9 months to cover maternity leave.**
ADSU is a 34 bedded day surgery unit. We care for patients pre & post operatively in urology, general surgery, trauma & orthopaedic, ENT, plastics, breast & gynaecology surgery.
You will:
Act as a role model promoting excellent patient care, supporting more junior staff and students.
Deputize for the ward manager in their absence.
Ensure the smooth running of the unit.
Main duties of the job
Supporting Junior Staff & supporting the ward manager.
Supporting students.
Coordinating the ward on a regular basis.
Patient care pre- and post-operatively.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Preparing patients for their surgery & caring for them post surgery. The patients on ADSU are able to be discharged by a nurse led discharge.
Supporting junior staff and students.
Reviewing patient lists via the electronic bed booking tool to ensure we are able to maximise patient capacity in the unit.
