Band 5 Staff Nurse - Adult Day Surgery Unit (ADSU)

This is a part-time post for 27.75 hours per week.

The Adult Day Surgery Unit comprises of 34 day case beds.

We care for patients undergoing day case procedures in a variety of surgical specialties including urology, plastics, orthopaedics, general surgery, maxilo facial, ENT and trauma.

Main duties of the job

We are open Mondays to Saturday. We are a dynamic unit and strive to deliver a positive patient experience.

We offer flexible working through the self-rostering system and provide opportunities for nurses to develop both professionally and personally, through local training and external professional courses.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be responsible for undertaking and recording comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of evidenced-based nursing care to a diverse group of patients.

Deliver care without direct supervision and be accountable for the care delivered and any omissions of care.

Teach and supervise more junior staff, students and the non-registered nursing workforce.

Be accountable for care or any omissions of care that you delegate to others.

Act as role model, delivering care with empathy and compassion as part of a multidisciplinary team.
