Band 3 Administration and Clerical Officer (Cellpath Support Office)
A position has become available in the Cellular Pathology Department within the histology office.
This role is at the centre of our team and therefore we are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual who works well under pressure with an approachable, professional and can-do attitude at all times to meet the needs of the Department.
You must have excellent communication, inter-personal and secretarial skills. Attention to detail is also an important aspect of the role. You must also have sound IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook, and previous experience in updating databases.
Previous experience in audio and copy typing along with knowledge of medical would be advantageous but not essential.
The post is full-time 8.45am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
Participation in a 1 in 3 weekly early start rota would be required (from 8.00am – 4pm).
Main duties of the job
Act as a laboratory administrative assistant providing comprehensive administrative support to departmental Consultants, Head Biomedical Scientist and other scientific and clinical staff.
Input patient data and results and prepare laboratory reports. In addition, the post holder will undertake general secretarial duties for the department.
Assist with departmental MDT provision to support Consultants.
Liaise with hospital clinicians, GPs, other healthcare professionals and external agencies in line with departmental policies.
Exercise autonomy within professional and managerial boundaries and will be required to verify and validate completed work.
