Trosolwg o'r swydd

The Training and Digital Learning Specialist is responsible for the effective delivery of training programs related to digital applications.

This role ensures that clinical and non-clinical staff are proficient in using healthcare systems, contributing to efficient and safe patient care across the Trust. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Training and Digital Learning Specialist and the Knowledge Training and Digital Learning Lead to implement training strategies and support the Trust's digital transformation.

The role requires strong communication, organisational skills, and the ability to work within established protocols to ensure that all staff receive appropriate and effective training. The post holder will be responsible for delivering training to various staff groups, supporting the wider clinical systems training team, and contributing to the continuous improvement of training materials and processes.

Deliver training programs for digital applications, ensuring that all clinical and non-clinical staff are trained according to their roles and responsibilities, with a focus on enhancing their daily workflows.

  • Support the design and development of training materials, including classroom-based sessions, e-learning modules, and guides, tailored to different staff groups and learning needs.  
  • Work with clinical teams and department managers to schedule and deliver training in alignment with operational needs, ensuring minimal disruption to service delivery.
  • Conduct post-training evaluations to assess staff competency, user proficiency, and overall satisfaction, and suggest improvements to the training curriculum based on feedback.  
  • Create and maintain an effective, easy to use repository of created learning interventions (video, guides, practice/step-through modules, hints&tips).  
  • For new functionality support project related learning that encompasses pre/during/post go-live activities and with training collateral, and then transition to BAU

Training Skills and Interpersonal Skills

  • Able to demonstrate significant experience in delivering effective and engaging training sessions and training support on clinical application usage to a wide range of clinical and non-clinical audiences, using a variety of delivery methods (including classroom, remote, at-desk, floor-walking). Possess excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability clearly explain complex workflows and system usage to a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, using self-directed actions to upskill and obtain knowledge and achieve outcomes. Advanced interpersonal skills; able to engage effectively with stakeholders, staff and colleagues at all levels, and to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve outcomes. Able to demonstrate critical thinking skills to evaluate the effectiveness of training, make informed recommendations for improvement. Comfortable working within a high paced environment, able to balance multiple priorities and manage your own workload.

  • Holds a training or teaching qualification for delivering training to adult learners, or equivalent experience, ideally with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience training digital applications to adult audiences in a healthcare organisation.

Clinical EPR and Digital Application Skills

  • Able to demonstrate strong proficiency using clinical EPR systems within an Acute NHS Trust or similarly diverse healthcare environment. Has an excellent understanding of NHS workflows and patient care tasks performed by a broad set of clinical and operational job roles within digital EPR systems in support patient care pathways. Has a minimum of 3 years working in an Acute NHS environment and ideally has 2+ years’ experience using Cerner Millennium EPR or similarly complex EPR system. 10
  • A proven ability to develop effective training collateral, such as user guides, videos, e-learning modules, lesson plans and training presentations and practice labs using digital applications (such as Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate, Clipchamp or similar). Able to demonstrate high levels of IT and digital proficiency in a range of digital tools and applications including O365, Teams and web-based technologies. Experience managing and administering learner accounts and training collateral (assets) within a Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Experience managing and resolving helpdesk tickets using helpdesk applications. Experience performing user account management, such as password resetting and creating accounts.
  • 2 or more years’ experience using Oracle Health/Cerner Millennium EPR.
