We are seeking to recruit a new team member for our Fertility Service. the successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse or Midwife with experience in reproductive medicine and who will be confident in managing their own clinical caseload.  

Main duties of the job

§  To independently manage a clinical caseload including ultrasound examination

§  To be able to demonstrate advanced communication skills.  communicating with the couple and other healthcare professionals.

§  To provide safe, effective, compassionate patient centred care.  To make a positive difference to the experience of women and their partners at a vulnerable and stressful time.

To provide support and counselling to the couple experiencing fertility issues and be able to demonstrate evidence based use of all management options.

§  To act as the couples’ advocate empowering them, as individuals, to make the right choices in regards to their care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Works as an expert in clinical field to deliver specialist clinical 
services to couples accessing fertility service.
Provides specialist, interdisciplinary education and training to 
other staff and students. 
Clinically manages and engineers the pathway for couples 
requiring care from fertility services.
Works strategically to influences the development of the service 
both locally and nationally. 
Leads clinical audits in own area. 
Participates in /facilitates/ undertakes research in specialist field

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of experience in specialty at band 6 or band 7
  • Experience in leadership or management

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RN/RM
  • educated to degree level with evidence of post grad CPD
Desirable criteria
  • CASE accreditation qualification in medical ultrasound
  • advanced assessment skills
  • non medical prescribing
