Job overview

The post holder will work with the Director of Midwifery, Associate Director of Nursing for urgent care, the LMNS and a wide range of stakeholders, to plan, monitor and evaluate the implementation of national and local recommendations for perinatal  services. This will require multidisciplinary working across the directorates and working across organisational boundaries as there will be system wide working with the trusts in  the LMNS. They will lead with the obstetric lead for governance on maternity governance and responsible for risk management.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead on monitoring the compliance of a range of actions from national reviews , in liaison with involved multidisciplinary professionals and functional heads
  •  Work closely with the Director of Midwifery, Associate Director of Nursing  for Urgent Care which includes neonatal services, senior management team and trust wide Quality and Compliance Team.
  • They will lead with the obstetric lead for governance on maternity governance and responsible for risk management and offer support to neonatal team as needed.
  •    Support the department to monitor compliance against agreed quality targets working closely with relevant stakeholders as well as what is set out as national and local requirements. This includes ensuring establishment and development of digital technology that develops effective ways of measuring outcomes, reporting on performance and supporting smart data collection and presentation of compliance and gaps.  
  •  To manage directly and oversee the presentation of a range of reports to relevant groups and committees internally and externally as agreed.  
  • To lead on the identification of areas requiring quality improvement, to support the development and delivery of quality and safety agenda.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

 

·       Support the Senior Maternity Team in the delivery of directorate wide, LMNS, regional and national initiatives.

·       Support the department to monitor compliance against agreed quality targets working closely with relevant stakeholders as well as what is set out as national and local requirements. This includes ensuring establishment and development of digital technology that develops effective ways of measuring outcomes, reporting on performance and supporting smart data collection and presentation of compliance and gaps.

·       To play a key role in supporting the service in the oversight, management and reporting of Incidents, Risk Register, Guidelines and all aspects of clinical governance. Provide assurance that Incidents are logged appropriately, tracked and monitored, completed in a timely manner and that learning and shared learning is understood. To co-chair the Maternity Clinical Governance Team and be a member of the paediatric governance team.
