Job overview
An opportunity as arisen for a suitably trained radiographer to join our team.
We are excited to be advertising for an enhanced practice radiographer to undertake various GI examinations. The candidate must be able to undertake and report Ba Swallows but may also have additional skills and qualifications.
As part of this role, the candidate would have their own weekly list supported by our team of Consultant Radiologists. The candidate would also become part of our Interventional Radiology team and be required to undertake on call duties for this.

Main duties of the job
To perform and report barium swallow studies
To perform other fluoroscopic examinations in line with competencies and qualifications
To be a member of the Interventional Radiology team and undertake on-call duties

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- The post holder will have responsibility for operational management and patient pathways within the fluoroscopy area of the RBFT Radiology Department, they will also rotate through Interventional Radiology.
· The post holder will undertake clinical examinations (and subsequent reporting) relevant to their scope of practice. They will function as an independent practitioner within Fluoroscopy.
- The post holder will assist in the strategic development of the service, in conjunction with the IR Lead Radiographer, RCSM, DRCSM and Clinical Lead. They will ensure that all developments align with the overall objectives of the Radiology Department and with the wider Trust strategy.
- The post holder will act as a State Registered Radiographer and will participate in the provision of imaging services to a diversity of patient presentations.
- They will be a role model for the profession and will have delegated responsibility for staff induction, training and development.
- The post holder will exercise autonomy within professional and managerial boundaries.
- The post holder will actively participate in audit programs and will have delegated responsibility for staff training and development in fluoroscopy
- Participate in the Interventional on-call rota once trained and competent in Interventional Radiology
Person specification
Education
Essential criteria
- Post Graduate Certificate/Diploma/ GI/GU Advanced Practice & Reporting, which must include Barium Swallow reporting or other relevant accredited Post Graduate training (or willingness to undertake)
- Registration with HCPC
Desirable criteria
- Interventional Radiology experience
Expereince
Essential criteria
- Writing, updating and working in line with PGD or PSD
- Evidence of recent and extensive post-registration experience in fluoroscopy/interventional/angio
Desirable criteria
- Radiation Protection Supervisor experience
- IR On call experience

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
