Band 2 Radiotherapy Admin Assistant

The post holder will be required to work across all departments within the Berkshire Centre assisting with the administration duties required.

You will provide effective administration support relating to the Radiotherapy Department at the Royal Berkshire Hospital - this will include:

  • Preparation of hospital notes in advance of patients attending for their appointment.
  • Requesting relevant clinical information such as pathology, histology and radiology results.
  • Checking patients in and out of clinic on PMS / EPR / MOSIAC and making follow-up appointments as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

Collation of all clinical notes, ensuring the clinician/radiographer has all relevant information, i.e. referral letter, previous correspondence, radiology, histology and pathology results.

Responsible for making follow-up appointments and arranging other appointments as required.

Ensure timely production of an accurate clinical record of each patient episode, using relevant IT systems and databases, including case note tracking.

Liaise in person and by telephone with all levels of medical and radiography staff, and establish good working relationships with medical secretaries and clerical staff.

Deal with telephone enquiries from other departments and hospitals.

Use PMS / EPR/ MOSIAC.

General clerical duties, including maintenance of the filing system.

Ensure all clinical areas have stock replenished as required.

To work with the pre-planning team ensure the patients who attend the department have all required documentation uploaded to our Record and verify system. This will include meeting and greeting our patients and uploading patient photos.

Any other duties as required.
