Are you a forward-thinking Therapeutic Radiographer with a passion for digital innovation and service improvement? Join our dynamic team at the Berkshire Cancer Centre as a Clinical Informatics Therapeutic Radiographer, where you will play a key role in shaping the future of radiotherapy through informatics-led transformation.

This exciting Band 7 position combines clinical expertise with digital leadership. You will work closely with the Radiotherapy Clinical Informatics Lead to optimize and maintain our radiotherapy information systems (including MOSAIQ and SmartClinic), support digital workflow improvements, and contribute to the development of safe, efficient, and patient-centred pathways.

The role will be split between clinical duties and informatics responsibilities, ensuring your work remains grounded in real-world practice and directly benefits patient care.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as deputy IT system administrator and clinical informatics specialist for radiotherapy.
  • Support upgrades, configuration, and optimisation of digital workflows across Reading and Bracknell.
  • Contribute to the design and documentation of standardised digital pathways.
  • Extract and analyse clinical data to inform service improvements and reporting.
  • Participate in user testing, training delivery, and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain clinical competencies through direct patient care (approx. 50% of working hours).

What we are looking for:

  • HCPC registered Therapeutic Radiographer with significant clinical experience.
  • Strong understanding of radiotherapy workflows and digital systems.
  • Experience in service improvement, data analysis, and clinical IT.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for digital transformation.

Desirable Skills:

  • MOSAIQ system administration training.
  • Crystal Reports or Power BI experience.
  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2).
  • FEDIP registration or willingness to work towards it.

  • Bsc Hons or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Relevant IT experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in major hardware upgrade.
  • Prince 2 Qualification.
  • Crystal report experience.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant previous experience of working as a senior therapeutic radiographer.
  • Highly specialised knowledge of all aspects of the radiotherapy pathway.
  • Evidence of leading service improvement within radiotherapy.
  • Experience conducting data analysis to inform service improvements.
Desirable criteria
  • Involvement with a major software/hardware upgrade within radiotherapy.
  • Experience querying and analysing data held in relational databases using raw SQL, Crystal Reports, Power BI or another similar tool.
