Are you a qualified CWP looking for a role / your first role working with young people with mental health conditions? Are you keen to be involved in a newly established and actively expanding Primary Mental Health Team?

We are looking for a Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) to join us for a 1-year FTC (from start date) at our team base in Wokingham Hospital.

In this role you will be providing outcome focussed, evidence-based low intensity interventions to children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties. This is a unique opportunity to be part of, and contribute to, a developing and innovative service.

As a team we work closely and proactively with partner agencies, including the Mental Health Support Teams, Early Help, Youth Offending Teams and CAMHS. We provide an important interface with partner agencies and specialist CAMHS.  

 The service has been developed in partnership with Wokingham Borough Council Children’s Services, who remain key partners in this initiative and the development of wider emotional health and wellbeing services for young people.  

As a Trust we are big on staff development and can offer both internal and external training in this role. Operational management and clinical supervision will also be provided.

The service operates Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00 and we are open to applicants looking for both full and part time hours.

Main duties of the job

• Assess and deliver, outcome focused, evidence-based low intensity interventions to children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
• Work in partnership with children, young people and families in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.
• Support and empower children, young people and families to make informed choices about the intervention.
• Provide a range of information and support for low intensity evidence based psychological treatments. This may include guided self-help, CCBT, behavioural activation and information about pharmacological treatments. This work may be face-to-face, by telephone or via other media.
