Job overview
Our Neonatal Unit here at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital has an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, forward thinking professionally registered nurses to join our dedicated team. We are looking for nurses who have the appropriate knowledge, skills and flexibility that will enable them to work across all areas of the Neonatal Unit to care for our babies whilst supporting and empowering families within our special care and mixed acuity areas.
Main duties of the job
Your role will involve supporting students, colleagues and peers to lead our unit to deliver high standards of care embedding best evidence based practice to our patients requiring intensive neonatal nursing care supporting our unit to achieve BFI and BLISS baby charter.
We undertake advanced neonatal life support including initiating cooling, high frequency oscillation and nitric oxide here at SWB whilst stabilising babies that may require level 3 care within our Neonatal network.
Our families are empowered to care for their baby's needs with education from our team including nasogastric feeding, home oxygen and home phototherapy, supporting family centered care and maintaining close and loving relationships
We are a 29 bedded Level 2 Local Neonatal Unit, incorporating 5 ITU, 5 HDU of mixed acuityand 19 SCBU beds admitting babies from 27 weeks plus. We have a dedicated Neonatal team including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals and Neonatal Community Outreach Team.
