We have a fantastic opportunity to join Team BCHC as the Interim Director of Therapies and Chief AHP. The role is critical to the successful professional leadership of AHP’s across the organisation and ensuring safe high-quality care, prevention and rehabilitation  is embedded across all of our services. You will work as part of the Nursing, AHP and Education Directorate and alongside the Chief of Nursing and Therapies. You will be joining us at exciting time as an Community NHS organisation who are driving forward significant transformation  to improve integration and access to community services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is accountable for providing overall professional leadership to AHPs within the Trust and for ensuring effective AHP input into the development of the Trust strategy, policies and business planning.

The Director of Therapies is a key member of the Chief Nursing and Therapies Senior Management Team providing strategic direction to the professions and the wider Trust acting as a role model, demonstrating the compassionate leadership we aspire to and the values of the organisation.

The Director of therapies is responsible for establishing and maintaining strong and effective partnerships and stakeholder relationships across local, regional and national networks, including leading the development of the Trust’s strategic vision and objectives and provides professional and strategic leadership across AHP professions (as defined by the HCPC).

As a member of the Chief Nursing and Therapies leadership team, the Director of Therapies will lead the wider Trust workstreams inclusive of patient safety, productivity and clinical service developments as defined.

The postholder will deputise for the Executive Director of Nursing and Therapies as required.

Qualifications/ Training

Essential criteria
  • Registered AHP
  • Educated to Masters Level or equivalent
  • Evidence of up to date personal and professional development and post graduate education applicable to the post

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant AHP management and leadership experience at or near board level
  • Substantial experience in leading, and managing Community based and out of hospital services including experience of working within Community Health or Learning Disability Services
  • Experience of leading and managing complex change and an understanding of established national tools for service improvement and redesign
  • Evidence of working across organisational boundaries to successfully achieve service change and development
